transverse gradient undulator

Dear all,
I would like to simulate a transverse gradient undulator using elegant. Is there any suggestions?

Re: plotting 2-D while scanning 1 variable

Michael, Thank you very much. This was what I was looking for. But a minor hiccup, it (sddshist actually) keeps reporting invalid lowerlimit. Separately running the sddscombine does print out a valid value. I don't know what is the problem. Any ideas? May be the cygwin environment is not suited. But...

plotting 2-D while scanning 1 variable

Michael and elegant users, So if I scan a single variable (RF phase) and want to look at the bunch centroid say then I do sddsplot -graph=symbol,scale=2 -parameter=CAV.PHASE,Cx run.fin but how do I 1. plot longitudinal phase space (2-D) as a function of a single scanned variable (RF phase) with colo...

Re: Making animated GIF movies

Hi Michael,
I want to be able to do the same for linac. How can we do this in an linac. I want to see the longitudiinal phase space evolution through the linac. {Sometime it is tiredsome to plot at every single position!). Can this method be massaged for a linac?

PEPPOT question

Hi all, What is the correct way to use PEPPOT command? My goal is to simulate a 2-D array of holes, each with a given radius (constant for all holes) and distance between them (equal in distance in x and y center to center) for simulating emittance measurement? Can peppot do this? If not, how can i ...

peak current after collimator

Hi all, I am trying to calculate the peak current of a bunch after a collimator. I did this by the following: sddsprocess file.out file.zout "process=t,average,tavg" "-define=column,z,t tavg -2.9979E11 *, units=mm" sddshist file.zout Peak.zhis -data=z -bin=200 sddsprocess Peak.zhis "-define=column,C...

Re: Fitting Beam Size Measurements

Hi Michael,
Is there now an element to vary the initial bunch length? Will be an useful one. Thanks!

strange error

I just installed elegant on my new 64-bit computer system. I installed cygwin first and then went on to do the standard procedure. When I type elegant (or Pelegant) at the prompt, it does nothing. No errors. Just the prompt appers. But if I type sddsplot it works by displaying the usage information....

Re: sddsplot error

Dear Soliday,
I did what you said and now it is working perfectly. I am glad that my question was a useful one for the community. Thanks!
