Error or typo in documentation for link_elements
Hi, I am attempting to perform a vary_element with a link_element referencing the same element. This case, it is a scan of beta while keeping the same ratio with alpha. It is two parts: the vary_element, then linking the other element. However, it isn't recognizing "same-occurrence" for the location...

Re: Discrepency in First-Order Transfer Matrix
Chris, For some reason, I assumed you are using an RFDF element here. (Didn't you ask about them before.) Let me know if that isn't the case. --Michael Hi Michael, Yes, I am using an RFDF element. Thanks! That explanation makes sense, and explains why it seemingly only affects a few of the terms of...

Discrepency in First-Order Transfer Matrix
Hi, I've noticed a discrepancy between in the first-order transfer matrix (read via the .matext file, written from &matrix_output printout ="%s.matext" printout_order = 2 SDDS_output="%s.mat" SDDS_output_order=2 full_matrix_only=1 &end There appears to be some dependence on this transfer matrix depe...

Source for RFDF transfer matrix
Hi,
If this is okay to ask, how did you find the transfer matrix terms for the RFDF element? Namely, the R65 term (R[5][4] in the Elegant source) is simpler than I would expect from my own derivation, but the model in Elegant appears to have the correct phase dependence.

Re: Chromaticity to adjust K2 of Sextupoles in a Linac
Hi Michael, Even with these two changes (no comma, only using two sextupoles), the K2 values are not updating. I'm mostly concerned with chromatic effects at two of the quadrupoles, so correcting two of them may be simpler for now. Should the use of KSEXT vs SEXT make a difference in a linac? Thanks...

Chromaticity to adjust K2 of Sextupoles in a Linac
Hi, I am attempting to use the "chromaticity" command to use Sextupoles to correct for chromatic errors in several Quadrupoles. Each of the Sextupoles is placed shortly after one of the quads. I am attempting to use this in a linac, whereas the example files are in rings (as far as I can tell). The ...

alter_element with an RPN equation and -macro
Hi, I am attempting to use alter_element to modify several components of an EMATRIX based on a -macro entered at the command line. Each of the components that I am changing is to be replaced with an equation, usually a function of the variable specified with the -macro command. However, it appears t...
