CSR effects from tracking
Hello, I am studying a line for looking the effect on bunch length with CSR and without CSR. In this line, R56 is set to -0.25m and a chirped beam (chirping 0.4 is used). The initial bunch length is 8 ps. Bunch is tracked once with CSR is ON (Bins=500, Particles=500000) through lattice file "TL2_pr5...

Re: Help in tracking with CSR
Dear Sir, I am thankfull for your reply. It worked well..... When I increase the N_KICKS, does programme generates bunch length and wake field in *.wke files after each kick i.e. I think magnet is simulated like ---DRIFT-KICK1-DRIFT-KICK2-DRIFT-KICK3-......KICKn-DRIFT and on each kick (for N_KICKS=n...

Re: Help in tracking with CSR
Dear Sir, I am attaching .ele and .lte file and also .fin file generated by programme. All the .wke files are bigger in size ( more than 100 kB), so I did not attache those files. Perhaps at somewhere I am making some mistake but could not pin point it......... (I am running programme on Windows-7)....

Help in tracking with CSR
Hello, I am trying to track a beam in a ~40 m long transfer line for a certain tuning of R56. Beam is generated through bunched_beam command (~8 ps). I defined drifts as CSRDRIFT in lattice file with "CSR_ON" option. Chirping is set to 1/R56 for compression. I am getting a message during run as " in...

Need help for providing correct energy
Hello, I am trying to use Elegant for tracking beam from a single magnet (later on to see the effects of CSR). But perhaps, I am not able to provide the correct beam energy in input file. I want to provide the beam (electron) with 300MeV as an input (from other file using SDDS_BEAM command in 6-D). ...

Re: Results not matching with MAD
Thanks Michael!!!
In conversion from MAD to Elegant, the edge effects were not converted correctly by me in file for rectangular bends.... Now results are matching....

Amalendu.

Results not matching with MAD
Hello, I am computing R56 for a transfer line using Elegant (without CSR) and the result obtained is -0.539m for a particular optics. For same optics MAD8 provides R56=0.30m. Sign is anyway different due to MAD conventions (-ct). The electron beam energy is 300MeV, so beta (relativistic) can not bri...
