General Physical Aperture
I have so far been using aperture_data to define physical apertures. Just to be sure, this command defines completely decoupled horizontal and vertical planes. In other terms, the H-V physical limitations can be regarded a a rectangular beam pipe. Questions: - is there a way to define an elliptical ...

Re: Load_Parameters statement
This seems like an old post but I am having a similar issue, what I am trying to do is the following, the problem is split into two blocks: block A) track a case with quad errors and save as a test_a.new lattice + test_a.param file and output test_a.twi. This should also create a .new lattice which ...

Re: machine correction, optimization and statistics
Indeed your conclusion is correct. I have double checked with AT2 and the absence of one VCM at the head of the achromat is responsible for the residual seen in the vertical plane. So thanks again to check this, it was very instructive

Re: machine correction, optimization and statistics
Thanks a lot Michael to look into this. It is an interesting finding and I need to understand it in detail.

Sorry Michael
my mistake I think, sure I had put it. I am attaching it now

Re: machine correction, optimization and statistics
Hi all I am working on an elegant version of the MAXIV 3GeV lattice and I am trying to do orbit corrections after distorting the orbit by magnet errors. The robit indeed squeezes from about 1mm to 10um, however the residuals at BPMs do not make me completely happy. In the horizontal plane I can reac...

Thank you so much Michael, sddsselect was exactly what I was missing, it seems all more reasonable now

Re: duplicating a mmap file
Many Thanks Michael, the principle is clear, yet I have some problem implementing it What I do is the following run over the entire ring (ringrf) and produce the run1.twi file. The ring1.mmap is run over the full ringrf BUT the calculation of the LMA is exactly limited to the 1st achromat (cell). Al...

Re: duplicating a mmap file
Sure Michael I am using the mmap to calculate the Touschek Lifetime of a ring, formed of 20 identical cells. I use one RF and perform a full 6D tracking. I just want to speed up the procedure, assuming that every cell behaves the same, which should be even more true without errors. So I do a trackin...
