Re: Mac OSX installation
Yes, I changed the PATH variable with no luck; l cannot get sddsplot to work. Since other exceutables such as "sddsprintout" work OK, the problem must be with motif. When I try "./mpl_motif" I get the following error message: "dyld: library not loaded: /opt/X11/lib/libXmu.6.dylib" I found that the l...

Thanks Soliday for your prompt reply. I succeded in solving only one of the problems, i.e., permanently defining the environment variable. But I had to do it differently: "export RPN_DEFNS=~/defns.rpn" in the .profile file. By the way this is the same under Ubuntu Linux 14.04. However, when trying t...

Space charge for continuous and bunched beams
Dear Michael and colleagues, I understand that Rami Kishek, from our UMER group at U. of Maryland, talked to you during PAC’11 in NYC about space charge calculations in ELEGANT. Rami presented a poster on envelope calculations for low current using both ELEGANT and the pic code WARP. I presented a p...

Finding periodic envelopes with space charge
Dear Michael and collaborators, I would like to find the periodic envelopes (sigmax, sigmay) of an electron beam in a beamline. The beam is subject to the space charge kicks given by "&insert_sceffects". For this reason, I believe I cannot use the twiss output with "matched=1". I was thinking of usin...
