Re: rf_setup is broken in 2025.1
Michael, Made an example for you. Also checked this for different lattice. It looks like rf_setup behavior is lattice dependent. The lattice in question is a result of DA optimization, but energy aperture is bad. rf_setup from 2024.1 however managed to find RFCA parameters, but the one from 2025.1 c...

rf_setup is broken in 2025.1
Hello Updated today elegant from 2024.1 to 2025.1 on Windows and discovered different behavior of rf_setup. Pelegant exits without warnings and errors after printing out all data from script at the tracking step. In Elegant I see message Updating floor coordinates tracking step 1 Tracking fiducial p...

Re: K1 in SBEN and CSBEND is ignored if ANGLE=0
Michael, Both warning messages - the one that I showed you and the one that you mention, are being displayed only in the case when ANGLE is small. When ANGLE=0 there are no messages and SBEND or CSBEND is not treated as KQUAD, K1 is ignored. I made an example illustrating the issue. Mistakes are pos...

Wildcards and type parameter for vary_element
Hello! I discovered a good example of ramping up sextupoles for finding closed orbit and correcting it in presence of strong sextupoles and errors. Unfortunately, vary_element function does not support wildcards and type parameter which is somewhat an inconvenience. Is it possible to add these featu...

K1 in SBEN and CSBEND is ignored if ANGLE=0
Hi! It looks like K1 parameter is ignored in SBEN and CSBEND elements if ANGLE is very small or zero. And it is by design for some reason. If I change ANGLE to very small value (like 1e-7) I get following warning: ************************** Summary of warnings **************************** 1 types of...

Re: Beam loading simulation with feeder current modulation
The problem with a bunch train with a gap is that bunches will have different RF acceptance, lifetime and length. We want to avoid that by changing the behavior of generator - if we introduce special modulation to generator current at the moments when there is no beam loading (gap, empty separatrice...

Beam loading simulation with feeder current modulation
Hello Is there a way to simulate beam loading effect for bunch train with a gap with special modulation of generator current. Modulation is supposed to simulate loading with bunches in the gap. Also, do you have any tips on how to setup AMPLITUDE_FILTER and PHASE_FILTER? For a test run I've tried to...

IBS and bunch lengthening due to impedance
Hello I've been trying to setup ibsEmittance and haissinski codes to find beam parameters with consideration of combined effects of IBS and impedance. I see that it has been done before , but I need some advice. In paper it's said that ibsEmittance code is used to abtain energy spread to use it in H...
