Re: Beam ion interaction using IONEFFECTS element
Hi Micheal~ We are currently working on the ion-effect in a electron ring. Here, we have followed the examples above with a full lattice with plenty of elements, which is a time-consuming process. We have employed Pelegant in a cluster to accelerate the simulations, but barely works. So, We want to ...

Re: Study of TMCI
Hi Micheal
I have solved the problems above. That works for me. Thank you!
Thank you again for your help.
Best Regards

Re: Study of TMCI
Hello Michael
I have also encountered the error "
Program trace-back:
error: frequency values not equally spaced for real data (ZLONGIT)".
The impedance file is also attached below. The space between frequencies is 1e11 Hz.
Thank you for your help.

Colum munipulate with sdds2stream/sddsprintout
Hi Micheal:
I tried to use sdds2stream/sddsprintout to get the data of a branch of watch files named 'run-*.w1'. I want to know how I can get the selected column Sdelta, for example, into one file. Should I use sddscombine or another command? Thank you for your help.

RPN expression error
Hi Michael: I am using optmizization to do matching in a transportation line. But at the &optimization_term section, the expression of the given function do not work well, saying: unknown token: M2.betax too few items on stack (divide). I am currently using the release posted at Sep 13 2023 04:37:07...

Re: Ring tracking with ciwggler element
Dear Michael
The results between AT and elegant are consistent for the ring without a damping wiggler. But when it comes to damping wigglers, elegant will show different results compared with AT. I don't know if there is any error in the damping wiggler design.

Re: Ring tracking with ciwggler element
However, we have tried to decrease the number of the damping wigglers to 6 super peroid, but the paricle leak quickly also. Maybe the energy spread is still too large. In our second design, we incorporated distributed RF cavities and the dynamic apearture is still zero. Besides, we have also double...

Re: Ring tracking with ciwggler element
Dear Micheal Sorry for my late apply and thank you for your kind assistance! We have realized that a single RF cavity is insufficient in compensating for the energy loss. However, we have tried to decrease the number of the damping wigglers to 6 super peroid, but the paricle leak quickly also. Maybe...

error message in optimization
Hello Micheal, I am doing the DA optimization by changing the ksext values, but I got an error saying Error: Unable to set parameter values--index out of range (SDDS_SetParameters) Problem setting SDDS parameter values (do_aperture_search). The error makes me confused. Is there any problem in the op...
