Re: RFMODE with multiple bunches
Dear all, I tried to do tracking for beam loading calculations using the RFMODE but it seems that I faced the same problem that Alexis faced, however, I didn't use charge in RFMODE. 3 of 10000 particles outside of binning region in RFMODE RF_H #1. Consider increasing number of bins. Would you mind i...

Re: Matching twiss function in lattice with superbends
Dear Vadim,
Many thanks for your very kind help and detailed solution. As, you suggest I used local quads for twiss correction and global ones for correcting tunes. It seems that every thing is good and perfect now.
Regards,
Sara

Re: Matching twiss function in lattice with superbends
Dear Vadim, I tried to correct the superbend lattice without using inverse bends (BQF1, BQF2, BQF3, and BQF4), and instead use sbb1a and sbb1b in the 4th, 8th, and 12th cells. I assumed that in this case, I should make changes on the makeElementListFile , and I can make the element list, but by usin...

Re: Matching twiss function in lattice with superbends
Dear Vadim,
It is amazing. Thanks a lot for the complete explanation of the procedure of correction and the details of it. It is also great that I understood what was the origin of the error that I faced. I did it and as you said the correction looks perfect.
Regards,
Sara

Matching twiss function in lattice with superbends
Dear Vadim and all, I have been trying to correct the Elettra lattice by considering a superbend magnet in the 3 cells of the lattice (cell4, cell8, and cell12). In this case, the measured lattice is the lattice with superbends and the ideal lattice is the one without super bends. I thought that may...

Re: Beta Beating Correction in presence of errors
Dear all, I used Elegant for beta beating and coupling correction in the presence of errors with the wonderful and great support of Vadim Sajaev and I think It could be helpful for others so I share the process and steps here. The method is precious and much faster than the simplex method. I try to ...

Re: Implementation of bunch lengthning and transverse impedance
Dear Michael, Thanks for the help. I increase the number of particles from 150,000 to 1,500,000 and it worked:) as below: 10000turn.jpg Based on the result can I announce 0.5 mA as the threshold current? Also, I try to know how the beam behaves in MWI. For this, I plotted t,p from the watch file for...

Re: Implementation of bunch lengthning and transverse impedance
Thanks Michael. I will try your suggestion. I have another question, I have some kind of handle in the bunch length during tracking. Can we consider them as microwave instability and is it usual that they disappear after some turns? 1000 Turns with 2 mA currents 2_1000.png 4000 Turns with 2 mA curre...

Re: Implementation of bunch lengthning and transverse impedance
Dear Michael, Thanks for your help. Finally, I increased the impedance budget and the resistive wall effect to achieve the logical behavior. But there is a question based on the result as I don't have the continuous increase in the energy spread, can I say that 2(mA) is a threshold current? increase...

Re: Implementation of bunch lengthning and transverse impedance
Dear Michael and all, I try to simulate the microwave instability by tracking in Elegant but I can't find any logical result by changing the current from 0 to 6 mA. I used ZLONG by these parameters: Rs=0.8 (ohm), f=7MGH and Q=1. It seems that the tracking doesn't see any instability or I made a mist...
