One-turn matrix in the presence of the RF field?

I have to replace the actual lattice by a one-turn matrix to deal with multiple turns (more than a thousand). The lattice has a RF cavity. In this case, when I read off a one-turn matrix from .mpr file, use EMATRIX to define a new lattice, and benchmark beamdynamics against the actual lattice, they ...

Read off the one-turn matrix from the result files?

Is there a way I can read off the numerical values of the 6 x6 one-turn matrix from one of the result files after I ran the code ? I know it is possible in MadX. If it is available in the ELEGAT, could you tell me how to do it ?

Thanks,
Gunn

Re: lattice file conversion from MAD-X to ELEGANT?

Thanks, Michael

I failed to attach the files. It says extension .madx nor .dat are not allowed.

lattice file conversion from MAD-X to ELEGANT?

I am in a collaboration with other team and they can provide me with a lattice file in MAD-X. I want to run it on the ELEGANT. The lattice is long and I would need some kind of conversion of the lattice file into something I can use for the ELEGANT. Is this possible? If so, could you let me know how...

question about bunched beam loading

Hi According to page 9 of the ELEGANT Manual, I can load the bunched beam only from an external file using sdds_beam. An external file for a single bunch is to be generated by bunched_beam in a separate run. Why is this true? Can I just use the bunched_beam to generae a bunch in an input file and se...

Re: pulsed beam generation

I use Window shell (command prompt). As an experiment, I moved two 'generate..' files to my working folder and tried 'generate..' command. Things still did not work. How do I set the correct search path (probably the first couple of lines in two 'generate...' files)?

Thanks,
Gunn Tae

Re: pulsed beam generation

Thanks for the reply. I first tried to generate the bunch by using the command line you suggested: generateBunch -output bunch.sdds -number 10000 -xplane 60e-9,5.2,0.0,0.0,0.0 -yplane 16e-9,2.4,0,0,0 -zplane 6e3,10e-3,0.12e-2 But the error message showed up 'generateBunch' is not recognized as an in...

pulsed beam generation

I am trying to simulate the pulsed beam injection into the ring in the ELEGANT. The revolution period is about 13 us. We want to inject a series of bunch trains-consisting of only two bunches spaced by 2us-in an interval of 10ms. In the input file, how can I generate this pulsed beam structure? It l...
