Re: Sextupole magnet for correction of aberration with low energy spread

Dear Michael, Thank you for your kind help and suggestions for the analysis! As a matter of fact, I checked with the energy spread of 0.1 % and 1 %, and there was significant reduction of the emittance increasing. Anyhow, following your analysis, I think I will have to take a closer look at the seco...

Sextupole magnet for correction of aberration with low energy spread

Dear Michael, Hello, I am currently studying the correction of the aberration using the sextupole magnet. For this study I used dog-leg achromat, and I did the optimization of the chromatic amplitude (Wx and Wy) and second-order dispersion (T166 and T266) using two pairs of the sextupole magnets. In...

Re: transverse x x' update with csr

Dear Michael,

Thank you again for pointing out the momentum convention...!
it works perfectly using the plaindata2sdds, and I can go to the next step very easily :D

Best regards,
Seongyeol

Re: transverse x x' update with csr

Dear Michael, I have another question: I am doing the calculation using extracted data from ~.out, which is (x, x', y, y', pz, t). After some modifications of the data, I would like to use this data for the ELEGANT tracking. I was wondering if there is way to convert the data to the sdds format dire...

Re: transverse x x' update with csr

Dear Michael, I think I solved the problem! Thing was because of the calculation of delta (fractional energy spread in 6D phase space). I always set delta to be (p -
) /
instead of (p - pCentral) / pCentral. I thought since the momentum is slightly changed due to the CSR, so that I thought I ...

Re: transverse x x' update with csr

Dear Michael, Thank you for your explanation. However, I do not understand well about how to calculate the dispersion by integration through the dipole. Could you please let me know more in detail about this dispersion computation? --------------------------------------------------------------------...

transverse x x' update with csr

Dear all, Hello, I am currently studying the csr effects, and using the very simple case, I am trying to understand how transverse coordinates x and x' are changed with the csr effects. In this case, I set CSRCSBEND with 'LINEARIZE = 1' to force the matrix calculation and 'STEADY_STATE = 1' for the ...

Re: CSR induced energy spread

Dear Michael, Thank you for your detailed explanation. As a matter of fact, I played with this by changing SG_halfwidth, number of kicks and bins, ISR, but basically the amount of energy spread by CSR was still small. However, I understood that the reason why there is a difference is due to the algo...

CSR induced energy spread

Dear all, Hello, I am currently studying the CSR induced energy spread and the emittance growth. Following the references (PRST-AB 4, 070701, PRST-AB 17, 060701, etc ...), rms energy spread induced by CSR can be calculated by the equation (related to the beam charge, dipole length and bending radius...

second order matrix Tijk

Hello, I am wondering about the T-element of the second order matrix. As in the .mpr file, there are T matrix components suh as T111, T121, T122 ... According to what I understood, in the matrix output file (.mpr), T11 stands for T111, and i=1, j=1, k = 1 to j. I guess the reason why there is no com...
