TMCI simulation w/o radiation damping

Hi Michael, We want to simulate TMC-Instability w/ or w/o radiation damping effect, here we have two more problems. Is there any way to exclude damping effect but reserve longitudinal motion? In case of we utilize double-frequency RF or triple-frequency RF system to include nonlinear synchrotron mot...

how to obtain more detailed info when particles get lost?

Hi, everyone. Here are two problems in ring tracking: Is there any way to obtain the centroid or coordinate data before the particle get lost? In &run_setup there is indeed losses to record the data on lost particles, but if I want to obtain the specific data at the elements before the particle get ...

Re: Confusion to the RFMODE element

Hi Michael, Thanks for your patient reply! We found an another problem that the bunch length calculated by the element RFCA and RFMODE are different. The double rf system is detuned at 200mA under our main ring lattice.Near the optimal lengthening condition, the tracking result of bunch length is dif...

Re: Confusion to the RFMODE element

Hi Michael, We met a problem in the recently study on RFMODE. In a passive harmonic cavity defined by RFMODE, the cavity phase is connected to the tuning angle, which is given by the resonant frequency.Their relationship can be expressed a tangential function, and the cavity phase is the tuning angle ...

Re: Confusion to the RFMODE element

Michael, The result seems to be better, which could survive over 300 turns. However the beam loss energy after these turns. Here are my two more questions: 1.From the *.rfm output of the tracking result, the RF feedback system doesn't seem to work very well. The voltage and phase of three cavity are chan...

Re: Confusion to the RFMODE element

Hi Michael, Thank you for the timely reply! Furthermore,I met another problem recently when utilizing the RFMODE element in ring tracking. Like I said above,I use three active cavity in the lattice with given harmonic number, and I set the parameters in RFMODE. But the beam always get lost in the ini...

Confusion to the RFMODE element

Hello Michael, Here I utilize three active cavity in the ring tracking, with one fundamental frequency, the other two are second-harmonic cavity and third-harmonic cavity. Then I got some confusions to the tracking results. 1.The unit of the PhaseCavity should be rad ? I thought it may be a small bug. ...

Re: Different U0 utilizing CWIGGLER/GFWIGGLER/UKICKMAP?

Here is my lattice file and the .ele file.
The compressed files are the kickmap.sdds for the IDs,described by CWIGGLER are added in the lattice file.

Thanks for your timely respond!

Different U0 utilizing CWIGGLER/GFWIGGLER/UKICKMAP?

Hi,all! When I tried to replace the IDs from CWIGGLER to UKICKMAP,which I got from the example: cwiggler+kickmap. However I found that U0 calculating by UKICKMAP is less than using CWIGGLER,and I also tried element GFWIGGLER,the result is similar to the UKICKMAP. Is this a normal result?Or I have to...

Parameters to choose in optimization

Hi, I'm working on the ex optimization when passing through a 4 bends chicane. As our initial energy spread is too large, and we want to put into some other magnets, may be sextupoles or quadrupoles,to get a better performance. I want to know is there some key parameters to get a better solution in opt...
