Hi,
I have 3D field data of an RF cavity exported from CST. Can Elegant use this 3D field data for simulations? If it is possible, how should I proceed?
Best,
Zhenbiao

BPM errors in trajectory correction simulations
Hello, I have run elegant to correct a trajectory along the linac. Installation errors of all components — including bends, quadrupole magnets, RF cavities, and BPMs — have been considered in the simulation. My concern is how to properly handle BPM-related errors. When BPM installation errors are ta...

How to randomly select one injection beam file from 1001 injection beam files
Hello, I am using Elegant for longitudinal jitter simulations. The &error_element command is used to add RF phase and cavity voltage errors. I have 1001 injection beam files (inj_0001.sdds to inj_1001.sdds) from the injector's simulation results. I want to simulate injection beam errors by randomly ...

Re: How to add errors to a cryomodule
Hi Michael, I was using Elegant 2020 previously, and I've now updated to the latest version. According to the latest manual, it is possible to add pitch and yaw errors to quadrupoles and bends. That's great! But for RFCW and MONI elements, it is still not possible to directly add pitch and yaw error...

Re: How to add errors to a cryomodule
Hi Michael, Thanks for your reply. I encountered another issue. When I used the following code to add roll errors to the bends: &error_element name=*, element_type=*CSRCSBEN*, item=DX, amplitude=100e-6, cutoff=3 &end &error_element name=*, element_type=*CSRCSBEN*, item=DY, amplitude=100e-6, cutoff=3...

How to add errors to a cryomodule
Hi, I'm using elegant to simulate the misalignment of cryomodules. The cryomodule consists of 8 cavities. The definition of a module is as follows: L2_8CAVL : LINE=(CAVL_2,DCM2,CAVL_2,DCM2,CAVL_2,DCM2,CAVL_2,DCM2,CAVL_2,& DCM2,CAVL_2,DCM2,CAVL_2,DCM2,CAVL_2) CM04 : LINE=(BEGCM04,DCM0,DCM1,L2_8CAVL,D...

Re: About R56 in Elegant and LiTrack
Hi Michael: I used 4 CSRCSBEN elements to define a bunch compressor, and varying the angel of the CSRCSBEN elements to match R56. I obtained different current profiles when turning on and off the CSR effect. When the CSR effect is turned off, I obtained the desired current profile. When the CSR effe...

About R56 in Elegant and LiTrack
Hi, The structure of our superconducting linear accelerator is Inj+LH+L1+BC1+L2+BC2+L3. Inj is an injector; LH is a laser heater; L1, L2 and L3 are acceleration sections; BC1 and BC2 are compression sections. I optimized the longitudinal operating points of the linear accelerator using Litrack, incl...

deflection_map of BUMPER
Hi everyone: I'm using element BUMPER to simulate a nonlinear kicker. What do xpFactor and ypFactor in a deflection_map file represent? How can I get xpFactor and ypFactor? What I have is the strength of the magnetic field B that changes with the abscissa x. Can I write a DEFLECTION_MAP file with x ...
