Re: How the location of quantum excitation is chosen in dipole?

Hi Michael, Thanks so much for your kind response, and sorry about the bad expression. For question 1, when set the "DistributionBased=0", I also see the ISR effects is on. I misunderstood that the horizontal kick is off in this setting, and from your answer to question 2, I know that the horizontal...

How the location of quantum excitation is chosen in dipole?

Hi Michael, I am using elegant to do some single particle tracking for ring recently. When I use the element CSBEND for tracking, I wanna to know how it works for quantum excitation? I read the source code for CSBEND first, and I find that: 1, if we set the flag "distributionBased=0", then it seems ...

set n_kicks for ring tracking with a rf wavelength of 30um

Hi Michael, This days I face some problem for the n_kicks setting in kquad and csbend element. I am trying to do particle tracking in a ring wirh a extrame short wavelength cavity. The wavelength I use is 30 um. When I try to set the n_kinks in the element of kquad and csbend, the numerical error is...

Re: Multiple error of dipole, Quadrupole, and sextupole in ELEGANT

Hi Michael, Thanks for your kind reply! Actually I am a little bit confused about the XREFERENCE value in CSBEND. Because according to the source code of csbend.cpp, when we give a value of F1 and XREFERENCE for CSBEND, an additional value of F1/XREFERENCE will be added to b1. So I want to check tha...

Re: Multiple error of dipole, Quadrupole, and sextupole in ELEGANT

Hi Michael, But how to determine the value of X? it is defined as XREFERENCE in the CSBEND element. And by the way, if I want to check the parameters of a dipole after inserting the error, how can i printout this parameters? For example, the skew strength of quadrupole field in the CSBEND. Thanks, -...

Re: Pelegant bug for touschek_scatter?

Thanks Michael,

I will email the lattice file to you. Yes, the particle number we use is not the real value to get the true touschek loss rate. We just want to get some test first so we use the number so small.

Re: Pelegant bug for touschek_scatter?

Hi Michael, Thanks so much! I will double check that again. For the touschek_scatter, I have change the macro particle to 10000, and the selected particle is 343, large enough than the tasks number 40. The trouble is still there as I mentioned before. it just stop as below. “”" Working on TEST#1 at ...

Re: Pelegant bug for touschek_scatter?

Dear Dr. Borland, Thanks for your kind reply. For touschek_scatter, yes, I have tried more particles follow your suggestion, it works! So the problem should be there. And thanks! For momentum aperture, the attachment is the file we use for momentum aperture calculation. Yes, we didn't set the output...
