Re: laser modulation in helical undulator

Michael, Sorry I didn't notice your reply. I am confused about the LASER_TILT. I thought it meant to tilt the wave front of the laser pulse, which is similar with the work of Phys. Rev. ST Accel. Beams 17, 070701. Here I want to rotate the polarization direction of the laser to generate electric fie...

Re: laser modulation in helical undulator

Hi Michael, I have tried the new version and thanks for your work. Now I have a new problem. It seems that the laser in the undulator only have one polarization direction. However, when it is helical undulator, I want to rotate the laser polarization direction to (\hat{x}+\hat{y})/\sqrt(2), so that ...

Re: laser modulation in helical undulator

Hi Michael,

Is there anything new about this topic? Is it possible to simulate the modulation in helical undulator now?

Thanks.

Re: laser modulation in helical undulator

Hi Michael,
Are there any new functions to simulate the laser modulation in a helical undulator by now? LSRMDLTR only includes planar one.
Thanks.

Re: laser modulation in helical undulator

Michael,

I find a reference that gives the fields of helical wiggler by leading terms (A2 ans A3 in the attached paper). A3 is in rectangular coordinates. Could you please help us add this field to the code?

Thanks.

Re: Bug in LSRMDLTR

The phase space of y-yp for different FIELD_EXPANSION are attached.

Re: Bug in LSRMDLTR

Michael,

Attached please find the input files of LSRMDLTR. For different FIELD_EXPANSION I found the final phase space t-yp and y-yp were different. There were vertical focusing when it was "leading terms" or "exact". The code version is 26.0.2 on the oak cluster of SLAC.

Thanks.

Re: Bug in LSRMDLTR

Hi Michael,

I find this bug show up again in version 26.0.2, with incorrect vertical focusing when the field expansion is set to "leading-terms" or "exact".

laser modulation in helical undulator

Hi,
I want to simulate laser modulation in a helical undulator. But LSRMDLTR only includes planar one. Any suggestion for this? Is it possible to add an element to deal with laser modulation in helical undulator?
Thanks.
