Re: astra2elegant error
Dear Michael, we have the exact same problem when we try to convert a Astra distribution with astra2elegant. The last number in all linea were already changed from -1 to 5 as you recommended in the answer shown above. Is there any other possible reason for that error message? Many thanks in advance,...

Download SDDSToolkit (developer) for ubuntu 16
Dear experts and users,
I tried to download SDDSToolKit-devel-3.4-2.ubuntu.16.04.x86_64.rpm from the APS web page but that was not possible.
The file seems not the be there.
Can you me help with that?
Best,
Matthias

Re: link_elements
Hi Michael,
thank you for the fast response and for your help!
I will see which one of the three solutions is the best. We will have to use these quads also for matching in the future.

link_elements
Dear Elegant users and experts, we had some problems using link_elements and I hope to find some help here in the forum. Many of the quads in our beamline are split in two halfs in order to be able to position a marker in the center (the markers represent strip line BPMs). The two halfs are indicate...

Lattice definition without drifts
Dear elegant users and experts, I was wondering if there is a possibility to define an elegant lattice (like in mad) without drifts. The problem is that we generate automatically a lattice file from a list of elements where the element's center positions and their lengths are defined. Depending on t...

Tracking backwards through a cavity
Der elegant users and experts, We use elegant to match the beam in our FEL injector using the following procedure: The beam sizes are measured at a position downstream the first accelerating module (which increases the beam energy from 5 MeV to 160 MeV). We use then elegant to calculate the actual T...

Re: Simulation of a clystron failure and misfocusing
Dear Michael, thank you for your answer and for the modified files! I have one more question concerning the number of steps. You wrote that I need at least 2 steps but in the modified file you wrote: &run_control n_indices = 1, reset_rf_for_each_step = 0 first_is_fiducial = 1 n_steps = 1 &end I gues...

Simulation of a clystron failure and misfocusing
Dear elegant users and experts, I want to simulate a clystron failure in a linac including the misfocusing in the following quads. The idea was to run these simulations using the correct fiducialization in the run_control command. I can see different Twiss functions at the end of the beam line thus ...
