structure size inconsistent
Just build Pelegant (elegant.29.1.0.tar.gz) with SDDS.3.4.tar.gz and mpich 3.2 I build the SDDS using MPI=1 and Pelegant with the makePelegant script. I checked that the serial elegant works, that my mpich installation works. After the build is done, attempting to execute Pelegant: mpiexec -n 4 /wor...

Re: optimizing off-momentun and on close orbit
This also happens with analyze_map. For some reason, I can not specify start_from_centroid=1 and/or start_from_dp_centroid=1 in the closed orbit command. If i do that, then the analyze_map fails saying there is no beam. Setting those options to zero makes it work but then of course, I am tracking on...

optimizing off-momentun and on close orbit
I have a lattice for which I compute the off-momentum closed orbit. When I subsequently track with center_on_orbit=1 and center_momentum_also=1 with track everything works as expected. In my closed orbit command i have start_from_centroid=1 and start_from_dp_centroid=1. However, if instead of tracki...

RFTMEZ0 phase in radians?
According to the user guide, the RFTMEZ0 element takes a phase in radians. Is that really true given that all the other RF elements use degrees for the phase?

MAPSOLENOID reference frame
I have a field map that was created for a set of solenoid coils (2 pairs of 3 coils of various radii) . This is a high homogeneity set of coils for a polarized target. I have a R,Z, Br,Bz map of the whole assembly. I am using the MAPSOLENOID element. Now, how do I place that relative to the rest of ...

Re: using formulas in lattice files.
never mind. I think I answered my own question. I can define the variable in the lattice file and write the expressions in the command file.

using formulas in lattice files.
One feature that would be very useful is the ability to use formulas to define magnet settings directly in the lattice file.
I often do that when I design a chicane or other symmetric piece of beam line. I am aware we can use expressions in the command file but is it
possible in the lattice file?
