Re: Dynamic error in a storage ring
I found one in the examples "storageRingRfNoise" that is close to what I want to do But it shows an error message below when ILMatrixSetup is executed. Error for C:\Program Files\APS\SDDS ToolKit x64\sddsconvert.exe: Unable to read layout--no header lines found (SDDS_ReadLayout) Error for C:\Program...

Dynamic error in a storage ring
Dear Michael, Hello. I am trying to simulate a single particle behaviour with a dynamic error in a storage ring to estimate the effect of RF errors. I checked several examples, but couldn't find one that set an error that changes each turn in a ring. &vary_elements with an external sdds file can be ...

Re: Orbit correction bug
Dear Michael, I tried to run the attached file on a Windows machine with the recent version of Elegant (2023.1.0) but it was not working. screen_shot.png Apart from this issue, the download of SDDS Python 3.10x64.msi on the APS website is not accessible. https://www.aps.anl.gov/Accelerator-Operation...

Re: Orbit correction bug
Dear Michael,
I thought I posted a zipped file including a lattice and .ele file but it was not.
Here I enclosed the file. Please check it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards

Orbit correction bug
Dear Michael, I tried running "&correct" on a Windows machine with a recent elegant version (2022 Nov. 15). But it was completed prematurely without any error message (see the attached picture). The same file is tried on a different version (2018 Jun 13) and works fine. It looks like a bug. Could yo...

Pelegant Error: Unable to read ascii file with SDDS_MPI
Dear Michael, I am trying to do a simulation using Pelegant with particle coordinates defined by a sdds file (ASCII format). But it shows the error message "Unable to read ASCII file with SDDS_MPI" when the code is checking the sdds file. Since the file is working well with single-core elegant runs,...

Re: &correct does not work
Dear Michael I have tried the posted example "run1.new and run2.ele" in Elegant version 2020.5 (Dec 11, 2020) as well as 2020.3 (Jul 30, 2020) but the &correct does not work on Windows PC. It is terminated abnormally at the step of "computing correction matrix". Could you check the issue? Best regar...

Re: Simulation for time-dependent transverse kick by TM01 cavity
Thank you for your kind explanation with a good example.
I have checked that again and found that the kick effect is smaller than the initial angular distribution.

Re: Simulation for time-dependent transverse kick by TM01 cavity
Dear Michael thank you for your reply. What I exactly want to try is that a phase-dependent kick by the cavity since the transverse electric field of a TM01 cavity depends not only on a beam offset but also on the cavity phase. But there is no clear correlation between t and xp when a tracking simul...
