Slice twiss params using elegant2genesis
Hi Michael and all, I find when using elegant2genesis that the slice alpha values vary in magnitude by large amounts depending of the number of slices I'm using. E.g. going from 25 to 50 slices, can chance the slice alpha values by a factor of 10. I'm applying elegant2genesis to a bunch with a stron...

Re: Third order dipole matrix
Hi Michael,
I have the same query as Jonas, and I was just wondering if this was followed up on. Has the third order dipole matrix been included in elegnat? I couldn't find a mention of it in the latest release details.
Many thanks,
Tessa

Terminated by SIGSEGVProgram - for all files
Hi, I've set up a Virtual Machine to run elegant on a cluster. I've successfully installed elegant (version 33.1.1) however I'm getting the error, "Terminated by SIGSEGVProgram trace-back:". The files I'm using work on the versions of elegant I have installed on a MAC OSX and a windows machine, howe...

smoothDist6s error
Hi Michael, I'm getting the following error message when using smoothDist6s: smoothDist6s -input ./output/xfelfodo.out -output ./output/xfelfodoSLICE.out -betaSlices 10 -factor 2 Error1: couldn't execute "sddspfit": no such file or directory However sddspfit seems to be working fine. Re: Magnet layout with CSR elements
Nevermind,I found a solution!
For anyone else wondering, 'sddsprocess -define=col,ProfileOffset,"Profile 5 -" xfel.mag', works fine.

Re: Magnet layout with CSR elements
Hi Michael, Thanks for your response. Another related question - is there an easy way to offset the magnet layout plot? I have a plot where the magnet layout profile overlaps some of the data. It would be great if I could just lower the magnet layout profile. Do you know of a way to do this? Thanks ...

Magnet layout with CSR elements
Hi Michael, It seems that the magnet layout output becomes a little strange when CSR elements are used (namely CSRDRIFT and CSRCSBEND). For example, here's a section of bunch compressor and you can see that D_SIDE_BC1 starts at s=3.247044e+01 and DIP2_BC1 also starts at s=3.247044e+01. I've attached...

Conventions used in Elegant
Hi Michael, I have a question about the conventions you use in Elegant. Is the R56 of a standard chicane negative? And does this implying that the head of the bunch being at t < 0 and the tail of the bunch being t > 0? Secondly, when considering the acceleration through an RF cavity, is the formulat...
