Re: Gaussian fits with sddsemitproc

OK, that was easy enough. I'm sure Michael or some other talented scripter can do this more efficiently by piping the info around instead of writing files, but the following works easy enough and prints out the calculated emittance based on both the r.m.s. and gaussian fit values. It assumes you've ...

Gaussian fits with sddsemitproc

Hello, I have a beam which has a mostly gaussian distribution but some tails. Although there is <10% of the beam in the tails, the sigmas (Sx, Sy) are correspondingly much larger than the values I get from a gaussian fit. To make a more realistic comparison with how I will actually measure the emitt...

Optimization using T566

Hi All, I have a rather complicated chicane for doing a stage of bunch compression. I can perform a standard optimization changing quadrupoles in the chicane to get different values of R56. Now I would like to simultaneously optimize on T566 as well but it's not in the %s.fin file. Any ideas how I c...

Hello 'jbm',

Thank you so much for updating this. I'm using elegant and shower almost daily but confess I got so busy I forgot to update the installation guide. Thanks for picking up the ball and running with it! Also, thank you Michael & Robert for supporting our platform!

Take care,
