Instructions for Preparing Papers:

The proceedings of the MEDSI02 workshop will be published by Argonne National Laboratory. Each registered participant will receive a printed copy.

All papers must be submitted electronically before the workshop, and a paper copy turned in at the workshop. The deadline for submitting papers for inclusion in the proceedings is:

The papers will be formatted in a single column and published on 8.5" x 11" paper. Submissions will be accepted only in Microsoft Word format (version 97 or 2000).

Please submit the native Word (.doc) file, a PostScript (.ps or .prn) file of the Word document, and all graphics files (e.g., .eps or .gif files) used in figures. See instructions below on how to submit the electronic files.

Page limit: Should not exceed 8 pages.

Templates can be downloaded from the links below for U.S. Letter size paper (8.5" x 11") and A4 size paper (8.27" x 11.69").

Please use these templates to prepare your papers. The easiest way to use the templates is to type your paper into a new Word document and then open both the paper and the template documents. Copy text from the paper (highlight text and press <Ctrl-C>), then go into the template, highlight the text you want to replace (e.g., the title), click on Edit --> Paste Special, select "Unformatted Text" in the selection box, and click OK. Word will paste the text from your paper into the template and use the formatting of the template text you selected.

Poster Preparation:

The area for mounting posters is a cork board 91 inches (~2.3 m) wide by 43 inches (~1.1 m) high that is on legs 2.5 feet (0.76 m) long. Presenters are asked to mount their posters by 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning and remove them by 1:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Specific times when authors should be present by their posters will be posted on the MEDSI02 home page.

Publication Release Form:

Argonne National Laboratory requires that each non-ANL contribution to an ANL report has a completed Publication Release.

Click on the link to open it, then print and complete the form. Note that the form must be signed by the author (if allowed) and/or an authorized individual (if necessary) at the author's institution. At least one of these signatures is required. Fax the completed, signed form to MEDSI02 Proceedings at 630.252.1512. Completed, signed forms may also be submitted during the workshop.

Instructions for Electronic Paper Submission:

Submit your paper electronically by following these steps:

host:	ftp epics.aps.anl.gov
user ID:	anonymous
password:	(your complete e-mail address)
path:	cd medsi02
set the file mode to binary:	type binary

Upload your .doc and .ps files: e.g., put filename.doc where 'filename' is the paper ID for your paper. DO NOT submit .pdf files. If you need to make corrections after your paper is submitted, upload the revised file with a new name, e.g., put filename-rev1.ps. Revisions will not be accepted after the close of the workshop.
