General Information
Locations
General sessions will be held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the APS Conference Center, Bldg. 402. Vendor exhibits will be in the lower level of the Center, and the Poster Session will be held in Building 438, pentagons A and B. Locations for the workshops will be listed in the program book and posted at the meeting. Maps of the APS site and Conference Center will also be available at on-site registration.
Meals
The conference fee includes continental breakfasts and lunches on Tuesday through Thursday, October 13-15 and the conference reception/banquet on Tuesday evening. The Argonne Guest House (which is a one-block walk from the APS Conference Center) is open for dinner. In addition, a list of local restaurants will be available at registration.
Telephones and Messages
Pay telephones are located in the atrium of Bldg. 401 (the APS central laboratory/office building) and on the lower level of Bldg. 402 (the APS Conference Center). Messages can be left at the registration desk; the telephone numbers there are 630/252-9580 and 630/252-9581. The messages will be posted on a bulletin board by the entrance to the lecture hall. If you need to send or receive a fax, a fax machine is located in Bldg. 401, B1154 (the APS User Office). The number of this machine is 630/252-9250. Computer terminals are set up in the Bldg. 401 atrium for you to use to log on to your home computer.
Transportation
A shuttle bus will run between the off-site conference hotel and the APS Conference Center in the morning and in the evening. Bus transportation will also be provided for the conference banquet. Limousine reservations can be made for you during the meeting by conference staff.
Miscellaneous Information
An automated teller machine is located in the User Lounge area of Bldg. 401. This machine accepts the following cards: American Express, Discover/Novus, The Exchange, Master Card, Plus, Visa, and 24 Access.
