Title of Presentation:

Vertical Control Networks at Fermilab

Abstract:

The Fermilab site covers an area of 6400 acres with approximately 20 miles of underground enclosures. The vertical control networks on site are used for the alignment of the estimated 10,000 components found within the accelerator and experimental areas as well as controlling the typical mapping, site development, construction and deformation activities on a daily basis. Monumentation, time and accuracy requirements have required innovation, special instrumentation and procedures to improve the methods of acquiring, adjusting and analyzing data. Special monument considerations, instrumentation, observation procedures, analysis of observations, network adjustment and deformation considerations will be detailed.
