A High Accuracy Portable Hydrostatic Level

Abstract:

The HLS is a portable waterlevel which can achieve an accuracy of 5 micron for the elevation difference between two benchmarks up to 50 m apart. The system design is presented and the major components are explained. This is followed by a discussion of the measurement procedure. Some measurements are presented which verify the achievable accuracy.
