Experiences with an Active Target Total Station for Precise Angle Measurement

Abstract:

This poster session details the process and procedures used to measure precise horizontal angles using a Geodimeter 640 servo-driven total station with RMT/Autolock targeting and a Husky FS/2 hand-held computer used in the Fermi Main Injector tunnel traverse. The system has shown to have comparable accuracy to that of the Kern E-2, while significantly increasing productivity.
