A Digital Readout CCD Optical Beam Position Sensor

Abstract:

A prototype digital readout CCD Optical Position Sensor for the CMS Endcap Muon Position Monitoring System has been developed and tested at Fermilab. A description and results of characteristic measurements are presented. The features and resolution of such a device suggests an application to strings of elements in a linear collider.
