Meeting Announcement: Synchrotron Radiation Satellite Meeting, Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory, August 4-7, 1996

Call for Poster Abstracts

Topic Areas: Abstracts for posters are being solicited in the following topic areas: new developments at third-generation x-ray sources, macromolecular crystallography, time-resolved crystallography, high-pressure research, materials science and physics applications, novel instrumentation, detector development, and system software.

Abstract Submission: To submit an abstract, you may do one of the following: print, complete, and mail the poster abstract form, submit the abstract online using the poster abstract form, or send the abstract by e-mail (including all information shown on the abstract submission form) to IUCR@aps.anl.gov. Abstracts must be submitted no later than June 3, 1996. As soon as the abstracts have been accepted, they will be posted on the WWW Synchrotron Radiation Satellite Meeting Home Page. Instructions for preparation of the final paper will be mailed as soon as abstracts are accepted. Papers will be published in the Journal of Synchrotron Radiation. They will be due at the meeting and will be refereed according to the standard procedures of the journal.

Poster Preparation: You will be provided with a set of two pressure-sensitive (Velcro) poster Panels (configured as shown below) on which you may mount diagrams, graphs, data, pictures, and text. Special Velcro tape for mounting will be provided with the panels. General guidelines are as follows: (1) Legibility: The poster should be readable from a distance of at least 2 meters, and text and figure lettering should be no less than 1 cm (3/8 in.) (2) Heading and Titles: You should supply a heading label to be placed at the top of the poster panel. The heading should include the poster title, author's name(s), and the address of the primary author. The recommended title lettering size is 3 cm (1-3/16 in.). The maximum heading size is 20 x 122 cm (3 x 48 in.). All figures and tables should be titled. The sizes, format, and number of pieces you include (beyond the heading) are left to your discretion. (3) Dimensions: As shown below, the panels are 198 cm (78 in.) high (from the floor). We recommend, however, that you mount your poster pieces no lower than table height (approx. 76 cm or 30 in.) from the floor.
